Grain handling equipment being commissioned at the Cargill site in MozambiqueOn October 9, 2015, USAID’s Southern Africa Trade Hub presented an overview of the Warehouse Receipt System (WRS) and a regional progress report for USAID Southern Africa’s regional agriculture team in Pretoria. The presentations covered key results from the pilot WRS in Mozambique and parallel WRS developments in Zambia.

Hein Blignaut, the CEO of Appsolve, the IT service provider for the Warehouse Receipts System, also attended the presentation and announced that US computer technology corporation Oracle will be jointly awarding the “Sustainability and Innovation Award” to USAID’s Southern Africa Trade Hub and Appsolve for the WRS concept used in Mozambique and Zambia.
