In his keynote address at the workshop, Littleton Tazewell, USAID Southern Africa Deputy Mission Director said, “Realizing the ever-increasing importance of standards in facilitating regional and international trade, USAID is working with SADC to enhance the region’s quality infrastructure and standardization process.” He added that USAID was proud to work closely with ANSI, SADC and its member states to support efforts to enhance the standards development process, strengthen the legal and regulatory framework in the region, and enhance private sector outreach and communication on the issues.
