Auditors Training in MozambiqueThe Trade Hub conducted two five-day certified lead auditor trainings for Mozambique’s national standards body, Instituto Nacional de Normalização e Qualidadeil (INNOQ), in order to support INNOQ and build the capacity of its staff. The trainings took place from April 13-17 and April 20-24, with 21 participants (of which six were women) attending the courses in total.

The subject of training was the Occupational Health and Safety (OHSAS) Management System (based on OHSAS 18001) and the Energy Management System (EnMS) (based on ISO 50001). The training was designed to allow participants to acquire and/or enhance their competency to audit OHSAS and EnMS. Specifically, the objective was to ensure that participants understood the goal, content, and requirements of the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 50001 standards, as well as the correlation between these standards and other regulatory frameworks that facilitate trade. After the training, participants will be able to audit the implementation of these two management systems by companies in Mozambique and will also be able to train other auditors in Mozambique and the region, particularly in Portuguese-speaking countries.
