Delegates participated in sessions covering many aspects of Single Window implementation including financing structures and sustainability, inter-agency cooperation, regional integration, best practices, and adherence to international standardsUSAID’s Southern Africa Trade Hub sponsored delegates from Malawi and Namibia to the 4th International Single Window Conference hosted by the African Alliance for E-Commerce (AACE) in Brazzaville, Congo from October 5-7, 2015.

The theme for the conference was “How Single Windows can facilitate implementation of the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA).” In addition to the conference sessions, the Trade Hub-sponsored delegates held consultations with Single Window representatives from Kenya and Ghana to determine lessons learned and answers to specific questions relevant to the Namibian and Malawian Single Window projects.

The delegates will use the information and expertise gained from the conference to help inform critical decisions on Single Window operational structures and financing models.
