On December 4, 2015, USAID’s Southern Africa Trade Hub conducted a workshop in Mbabane, Swaziland on the topic of “From Policy to Law and Regulatory Impact Analysis” (RIA). The workshop was hosted by the Regulatory and Quality Infrastructure Development Department at the Swaziland Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade.
The workshop forms part of the Trade Hub’s work on the development of a national technical regulations booklet for Swaziland.
During a subsequent courtesy visit to the Acting Principal Secretary (PS) of the Swaziland Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, the PS expressed great appreciation for the importance of the Technical Regulations Booklet and the workshop for different stakeholders. The booklet will become the basis for developing a transparent online system for technical regulations that will ensure effective notification to the World Trade Organisation.
